|| History ||
Kit;
He was only one of the four kits born to his mother Rosepetal and his father the deputy Nightleaf. His siblings were Foxkit, Shadekit, and Midnightkit. All his life even from the beginning something was always wrong with his family. His mother was obsessed with a traitor by the name of Midnightshade, the last deputy of the Clan and her lover. She tried her best to raise them in his image but she only worked her witch's brew on Midnightkit and Shadekit.
Apprentice;
When he first became an apprentice it was only his father who showed pride and his sister Foxpaw but his mother's and brother's looked down on him in disgust with each passing moment. It was one day when he and his sister went out on a hunt did he see where the true disgust lied. He had only left Foxpaw for a few moments to bring back his kill when he heard her yowl in pain and anger. Sunsetpaw leaped into action as he ran down the hollow to see his own mother pinning his sister down, Foxpaw's throat in her jaws. Sunsetpaw pounced on his mother, claws digging into her dingy fur. She yowled and backed away hissing curses at both of them. As she was about to pounce Sunsetpaw saw his father burst into the opening, looming over Rosepetal with piercing eyes. His voice rumbled as he told them to leave but Sunsetpaw hid to watch the battle unfold.
Nightleaf growled at his mate as she rose with a grin, "I knew you were insane but not to the point of killing your own children."
Her eyes gleamed with the deepest intent, a wild look crossing her sleepless face, "She was weak," she purred, "Even your son is stronger than she is. Midnightshade would be disappointed."
With a swift glance he spoke up, spitting his thoughts at her like fire devouring a tree, "Enough you traitor! I gave you your chances to prove your loyalty, even taking you on as my mate but this is far enough. You love that coward so much you may die as one."
Rosepetal purred a bit as she looked at him but her amber eyes showed only worry, "What do you mean?"
"Leave. Return and your blood is mine."
He started to turn as she bowed her head with a serious look on her ragged face, "Yes your majesty." But as he turned his back to her she pounced with a yowl and rolled over and off the cliff with him in her claws.
Sunsetpaw raced to see what had happened. Blood had been spilled everywhere, yowls echoed in the pit as hisses were heard along with the clashing of injured bodies. Finally the sounds ceased, his eardrums swelled with worry as he watched the bottom with anxiety and hope pricking at his heart. He felt guilty to wish his mother's death over his father's but all in the same he could not truly wish her alive as long as she threatened their lives.
As time came and went a body emerged from the deep battlefield and crawled over the wall of rock and dirt, dragging their leg as they went along. It was Rosepetal. Even though she was his mother he could not bring himself to see her or to help her home, he stayed hidden and terrified of what lay down in the pit now.
Nothing was right, insanity, evil and betrayal in his Clan. Not a thing could be going right especially when Rosepetal could convince them that Nightleaf's death was an accident and what Foxpaw experienced wasn't what really happened. The world was being flipped, one lunatic to another.
(Sorry so crappy.)
